Guardamago III, with its skilled helmsman Massimo Piparo, is once again on the top step of the podium! The Italia Yachts 11.98 has won the Trofeo Città di Civitavecchia as 1st overall in ORC, concluding the Riva di Traiano Winter Championship. To tell the whole story, Piparo and his seasoned team also secured the third step on the podium in the IRC standings.
The championship saw many races in the first half but was less fortunate in the second due to adverse weather conditions. Nevertheless, our IY 11.98 won four out of seven races and never finished below third place. The fact that the Riva di Traiano Winter Championship was, as usual, highly contested is demonstrated by the very close standings, with three boats separated by just three points. This was excellent training for a team preparing to tackle, among other events, the Coppa dei Campioni in Trani and the Campionato Assoluto di Vela d’Altura in Brindisi.
