DESIGNERS
For every project, Italia Yachts partners with top architects and designers to create yachts that are unique, innovative, and instantly recognizable. Each new boat is a challenge meant to leave a lasting mark.
Mirko Arbore is a master of contemporary design, seamlessly blending Italian creative solutions with aesthetic balance and elegance. His work reflects a tailored approach that embodies the spirit of modernity while embracing timeless beauty.
He began his career at Starkel Design Studio and later joined 2emmemarine in 2005, working closely with Maurizio Cossutti to design high-performance sailboats like the M37, gaining extensive experience in ORC and IRC racing optimization.
In 2011, he became Chief Designer at Italia Yachts, designing key performance models such as the Italia 15.98, 12.98, 11.98, and 9.98. His passion for racing and performance led him to develop advanced analysis tools to inform yacht design.
Since 2010, he has collaborated with various racing teams, including Low Noise, which won multiple ORC World Championships. In 2018, Matteo launched his career as an independent yacht designer, working with internationally renowned shipyards and designers.
In 2006, he designed the first Italian 19.80-meter powercatamaran (VG 62’) and collaborated with various shipyards and professionals, including Pierluigi Floris and Naos Ship & Boat Design. He is also active in the fields of architecture and design.
In 2022, he took part in the refitting of a 1974 Swan 65’, which competed in the Ocean Globe Race 2023. Since 2010, he has been the co-founder of Studio9Architettura, now known as NoveArchitects, along with architect Francesca Nobiletti.
Currently, he serves as Industrial Director at Italia Yachts, where he strategically coordinates the shipyard’s departments, plans production, oversees quality, and develops new products—drawing on 25 years of experience in yacht design, construction, and navigation.
A life spent among boats: those of his father, in the family shipyard (where everyone was a master shipwright), and those he himself has designed over more than 50 years of activity—ranging from sail to motor yachts, always driven by a passion for offshore cruising and an unwavering commitment to quality.
In total, he has launched over 500 boats, including several iconic models such as the Modulo, Sintesi, and Atlantide series in sailing, and the Emozione and Mia in motor yachts—just to name the most widespread.
A lifelong sailor, he firmly believes that if a boat is beautiful, it is almost always a good boat. In such cases, he calls them “brave” boats... just like Italia Yachts’ performance line:
Gran Brave Barche!
The company’s vision is to combine the efficiency of industrialization with the irreplaceable value of craftsmanship. Every production phase is carefully and expertly managed, preserving manual knowledge and the skill of artisans, while rigorous controls and checks ensure homogeneous processes and consistent quality across the entire range.
