Italia Yachts Triumphs Again at Trofeo Punta Stendardo in Gaeta

Once again, the Trofeo Punta Stendardo organized by Yacht Club Gaeta saw two Italia Yachts owners/helmsmen, Massimo Romeo Piparo, skipper of the IY 11.98 Guardamago III, who claimed the top spot in Class B and secured the Ulisse Riviera Park Trophy for the overall victory in the long race. There were also great satisfactions for Gianluigi Dubbini, skipper of the IY 9.98 Sarchiapone, who brilliantly dominated the Class C standings, ascending to the highest step of the podium. Both, along with their teams, showcased incredible skill and determination in facing a tight competition amidst unpredictable and completely different conditions: from six to thirty knots of wind. "In this event, we faced completely different situations, not only due to the weather conditions – we even encountered 30 knots of wind with waves reaching 2 and a half meters high, hitting a speed of 18.8 knots – but we also had to deal with a new division in class. We found ourselves chasing the big ones, overwhelmed by the small ones. In short, a challenge different from the usual where we had the opportunity to test the absolute efficiency of our boat, which held up very well under any stress, and the skill and cohesion of a well-tested and cohesive team," commented Piparo. For both, the next appointment is in Sorrento with the ORC European Championship, from May 17th to 19th, before participating in the Champions Cup in Trani, from May 30th to June 2nd.
