On the longest night in the Mediterranean, To Be did not flinch. Stefano Rusconi’s Italia Yachts 11.98, sailing under the burgee of the Yacht Club Italiano, dominated the 70th Regata dei Tre Golfi, winning the 150-mile offshore race on corrected time and securing the overall title at the 2025 ORC Mediterranean Championship. Departing from Naples on the afternoon of May 16, the ORC fleet traced a postcard-perfect course — Procida, Ischia, Ventotene, Ponza, Capri, Li Galli — navigating light breezes and tactical puzzles worthy of seasoned masters. “The Regata dei Tre Golfi was the perfect finale to a week of top-level racing in Sorrento,” said owner-driver Rusconi. “The last hours of the offshore kept us on edge until dawn, fearing the smaller boats would catch us in corrected time. But To Be held her ground. We’re proud of this result — the whole crew gave everything. Now we’re ready to take on the Europeans.”
“This was a nail-biter till sunrise,” Rusconi admitted. “We knew every second counted. But once again, To Be — this incredible IY 11.98 — delivered. We believe in this boat and in a crew that never backs down.”
The offshore win crowns a week of consistent performance for To Be, already a front-runner in the windward-leeward races sailed off Sorrento and Capri. The boat also took home the Senatore Andrea Matarazzo Trophy and the Yacht Club Italiano Cup, awarded to the team with the most podium finishes.
For To Be and her owner-helmsman Rusconi, eyes are already set on the next goal: the ORC European Championship. With the quiet confidence of those who have already proven they belong at the top.
